Tyson Chicken CFO Falls Asleep In Wrong House, Arrested For Public Intoxication

Tyson Foods CFO John R. Tyson was arrested early yesterday morning on public intoxication charges after he was found asleep in the wrong house.

Tyson, 32, was also charged with trespassing and was booked in the Washington County, Arkansas jail. Tyson's headquarters is in Springdale, Arkansas, where it was founded by John W. Tyson in 1935.

Especially famous for its chicken products, Tyson Foods also owns Lakeside Farm Industries, Ltd., Hillshire Brands, River Valley Ingredients, LLC., and more.

The firm's newly minted CFO was officially appointed on October 2. He is the son of current company chairman John H. Tyson, and the grandson of John W.

At the time of John R.'s promotion, The Wall Street Journal reported that the young man was leaving his post as an investment banker for JPMorgan Chase & Co. to return to the family business.

In a public regulatory filing, the company announced he is set to receive an annual base salary of $650,000, with an increase in his target annual incentive payment from 90% to 110% of his annual base salary.

In regard to the arrest, local Fayetteville Fox affiliate KNWA reported that a woman returned to her residence in the 400 block of North Mock Ave to find Tyson asleep in her bed. The two were not acquainted.

The homeowner told dispatchers that she believes she left her front door unlocked, which is likely how Tyson gained entry. According to the news network, police officers found Tyson in the back bedroom with his clothes in front of the bed and identified him via his driver’s license.

The executive was released from jail on Sunday evening. Per company spokesperson Derek Burleson, “We’re aware of the incident and as this is a personal matter, we have no additional comment."
