The New York Times: The Senate has passed a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, a bipartisan win for President Biden. 

Reuters: U.S. consumer price increases slowed down in July, a sign that inflation may have peaked.

CNBC: A shortage of labor is giving retail and restaurant workers the upper hand over employers (for now).

Business Insider: Unemployed Americans “scored a big last-minute win in Biden's infrastructure bill” which cut a $50 billion measure that could have stripped their benefits.

The New York Times: The loan forgiveness portal for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) has opened, but some big banks are choosing to opt out. 

CNN Business: Airlines are starting to warn that the Delta variant of the coronavirus is starting to hurt their business. 

Small Business Trends: According to a recent survey, “workers in the US take an average of 2.7 hours of breaks each day.”

Reuters: Accenture is the latest large company to be hit with a ransomware attack, but their statement said that they “immediately contained the matter and isolated the affected servers.”

CNBC: Are America’s small businesses overconfident in their security? A new survey indicates that a majority of small businesses aren’t worried about hacking.
