Alabama Court's Beneficial Ownership Ruling Challenged
The Justice Department has appealed an Alabama District Court judge's ruling that the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) violated the constitution. The brief Notice of Appeal has been filed with the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. It included a one-paragraph statement challenging the decision but did not make further arguments.
The appeal comes ten days after US District Court Judge Liles C. Burke ruled that the Corporate Transparency Act was unconstitutional, and the plaintiffs in the case did not have to file a Beneficial Ownership Interest Report.
