It was our the first tax filing in the U.S. and we didn't know about those pitfalls. We didn't know that we needed 1095 form and Roman didn't ask about this form, therefore he prepared 1040A without that information. Closer to the end of the year we've found that we lost our health insurance subsidy and need to submit an amendment 1040X. We scheduled an appointment with Roman, and he did 1040X but made a mistake in our address. Later I called him to with questions regarding the IRS transcript, but the office phone didn't answer. I left two recording messages with a request to call back but never received the call from them. Now we're spending a lot of our time to fix all those troubles with IRS, I was forced to drive to Seattle and submit the 1040X personally, and after getting the transcript online I realized that our street address is wrong 2815 instead of 3815. I understand that we had to check all the information after Tax preparer, this was our the first time with U.S. tax prep, I think for this cases tax preparer should pay double or even triple attention to newcomers, ask more questions.
