Be careful when working with this CPA. While I have worked with Steve for about a decade now, things have fallen off. I was recently contacted by the state notifying me that my wages were under reported for a particular tax year. I contacted Steve to discuss during the busy extension season and waited. He was busy playing golf, on zoom calls and waiting for the state to get back to him. I was able to call the state and within 15 minutes find out the root cause of the issue. When I told him I would take action against him, he finally responded making sure that it was known I wasn’t his only client. He also told me he didn’t appreciate being threatened. I waited 6 weeks for a return call or a time to talk but never got one. We are a married couple with W2 income. I have come to realize that there are multiple years of egregious financial reporting errors ranging from understated W2 income, understated 1099 income and overstated Medicare wages. These were not meaningless adjustments and have created substantial liabilities, interest and penalties. I am also of the mindset that mistakes happen, even multiple times in some instances like mine, but Steve was unwilling to take the time to have a conversation and discuss the issues with me. I simply wanted to discuss the issue, figure out the resolution as my interest and penalties continued to accrue due to his errors, but he could not find the time. He does not care to rectify his mistakes. He does not care that his errors impact others. Do not be fooled. I have seen a few other reviews similar to this and thought there is always that “one person” who is unhappy, but it wouldn’t happen to me. Trust me, it could be be you. When it comes to professional courtesy during the attempts to reach Steve to rectify the issue, there is none.

He is very unprofessional, rude and does not keep you informed of your return especially when there is an issue according to him. Mr. Mankowski filed my return and accepted payment along with several family members on 2152022 and the IRS does not have my return as of 42022 and Mr. Mankowski has yet to let me know what the problem is. He has no returned phone calls or emails and when he does respond they are RUDE, condescending and uninformative,, to this date I still have NO knowledge of my return issue or status...

No compliments here that is for sure. He has been our family CPA for years and suddenly he has become so UNPROFESSIONAL, does not communicate when there is an issue with your return. He was paid for his service on 2152022 and he has still not rendered that service. My return is still not at the IRS and they have no record of it. I have been asking Mr. Mankowski since 312022 for an update.. to this date 42022 I still do not and I have no clue where my return is. He is rude, he hides behind his keyboard. This has been less than pleasant situation to deal with!
