AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!! They incorrectly filed our tax return from 2017 and now we owe the IRS. We dropped off our 2017 taxes at Capones. When we dropped off I advised that we were doing so because we keep owing the IRS and wanted to see how we could correct it for the years to come. Well, we got a call stating that we didnt owe and that we would get a 500 refund. We figured that they found credits to help us get ahead a little. Come summer our refund was never posted to our account. I called Capones who reviewed the filing and get a callback stating that they forgot to enter information from one of my prior employers. I have the information that was needed and we later received the refund. Fast forward to 2018, we received a letter from the IRS proposing that we owe 5-6,000 dollars because one of our W2s was not entered our filing year. I called Capones - copied the letter and our packet from the year prior, and dropped it off for a second look at Capones. I got a call back stating that the letter was correct and that WE never dropped off the return. It was also mentioned that we would have to call and pay the amount that the IRS proposed. There was no mention of help or an offer to help us with any of this. During the call that was mentioned about 5-6 times. WE never dropped it off. I asked several questions that couldnt be answered before I requested a call back from Vicki our filing representative. Well my prior employer never mailed it in 2017 so I had to jump through hoops for it prior to taking our information in to Capones the year prior - I KNOW it was in there. I never received a callback. I called again and requested a callback - nothing. I went to pick up the packetIRS letter and they couldnt find it. After standing around for 30 minutes and being asked if I could wait while they looked, they found it. Im guessing it was in the same pile of missing W2s. I took the 2017 packet and IRS letter to HR Block who found SEVERAL errors with their return. Long story short, HR blocked helped us solve the problem and answer the letter to the IRS with ease. Long story short, avoid this disaster of a place and save yourself the hassle.
