I went to Roy Cohen to have my taxes completed. He never completed them. Kept telling me they will be completed “that week”. It was several months and he never completed my taxes. I had to find another accountant to complete my taxes. I also paid Mr. Cohen to complete the taxes. Tried calling several times and he never answered his phone or called me back. In my opinion, if a tax return is slightly more detailed then the easy 5 minute process of plugging the numbers into a tax program he will not know how to complete it. He will drag you along for several months. Instead of being transparent he will lie to you and try to get as much money out of you that he can. Completely untrustworthy. I wish I could give negative stars.

Worst accountant I have ever dealt with. Unable to reach him. Doesn’t answer his phone. Took several months to review my taxes. Then overcharged me. I will be finding a new accountant.

Do not go to Roy Cohen. He made multiple mistakes on my taxes, costing me thousands of dollars. He made mistakes on many peoples taxes that I refereed to him. He’s unethical and unresponsive. After confronting him about his mistake he doesn't return your phone calls or emails. Go to anyone else but him. He’s expensive and incompetent. I cannot express enough to not go to him. He should be barred from practicing.

Worst communication I have ever dealt with. Never answers his phone and takes multiple days to answer an email. Not transparent and very deceptive. I ended up getting dragged along for over 2 months thinking my return would get completed which it never did. I finally had to take my business elsewhere and after April 15th so I needed to pay penalties. Just save yourself the trouble and find someone else to file your taxes. Plenty of retired MOS tax preparers doing them around the department.

Been using Roy for over 10 years now. He's a retired UMOS, so many of us using him are OTJ. Very proficient in the tax laws affecting our profession. He's a little bit more expensive than others, but you get what you pay for. Very happy with him!
