Unfortunately, using Robert's services has cost us almost $2000 in penalties and interest on unpaid taxes, which he miscalculated. Additionally we had a lien raised against us (affecting our credit score) while he was 'sorting out' our issue, which he said was a mistake on behalf of the state. We were a slightly more complicated case as my husband works in Jersey and lives in NYC. And to his credit, when we told him the state was requesting $6000 additional taxes, he did respond quickly and refile taxes for us, however his forms were completely incorrect. As the state said to me on the phone, 'Whoever filed this return made big mistakes.' He even filed the wrong form (IT-201 versus IT-203 because we were part year residents)! As new residents in the US, we looked to Robert as an expert on US Tax code but we were very let down. In less than 30 minutes with an accountant at H&R Block, we were able to sort out what were quite obvious mistakes and correctly file the paperwork but this has cost us a lot of money and blemished our credit score for the first time ever.
