We hired Martin Eisenstein in April 2024 after finding him on Mark Kohler's website to provide a trifecta analysis and a tax strategy for 2024. We uploaded all our documentation to their portal and had some initial meetings to review our current situation. On multiple occassions we were asked to provide information, which we already provided via upload and/or conversations in meetings.
A month later we received an email stating he had a 1st draft of items ready to be reviewed and they would schedule a meeting. No other communication was received. Several months went by and many attempts to contact him were ignored. Finally on Sep 3rd I emailed asking if we could finish up or get a refund. We did finally get a reply saying he was still working in it and would finish up the tax plan that month and asset protection in Q4.
Again, many more months passed as well as the 2024 tax season (the whole reason we reached out to him to begin with) and we were still left with nothing.
After many more emails complaining and requesting a refund, in March 2025 (close to a year later) he finally agreed to refund us. He said due to cashflow issues he could refund us once he started collection payments on 2024 tax season clients.
Well, that came and passed an no refund. He continued putting us off with excuses of cashflow problems. I finally got fed up and as of Feb 2026 (coming up on 2 years after we engaged him) we filed a grievance with the NJ Office of Attorney Ethics. When I told him he I was filing it, he replied with "then I will need to use your refund to defend the grievance" - like we were ever going to see it anyway.
$3600 and 2 years of time wasted on this fraud. Stay away if you value your money, your time, and your sanity!
