We received two IRS CP504B notices for fiscal years 2023 and 2024 due to failures by A #1 Tax & Bookkeeping Service to file our S-Corp returns on time. Cheryl Ross did not submit the corporate returns until 2025, resulting in penalties totaling $3,340.58. Our business has operated since 2003, and we have never been late filing our corporate taxes. We dropped off our corporate documents and personal tax documents together, each in clearly labeled envelopes. Despite this, the preparer stated she “didn’t know” she was supposed to prepare and file the corporate return—something we believe is inconsistent with the facts, given that she had the documents in her possession. Additionally, she is not a CPA, yet there was no required signage at her place of business indicating this. She accepted payment for tax preparation services, and we are now facing more than $3,400 in IRS penalties as a result of the late filing. Based on our experience, taxpayers should be aware that the IRS holds the taxpayer—not the preparer—responsible for penalties, even when the preparer makes an error or oversight. Unfortunately, we learned this the hard way. We recommend choosing a qualified CPA to avoid similar issues and to ensure accountability and proper filing.

A 1 Tax is where you want to get your tax filed! Cheryl and her team has been helpful to us with her reasonable prices! WE came to her with Knots of papers and A1 tax was able to untangled the documents. Such a great vibe and great people to work with. We highly recommend these tax ladies to file your taxes! Its all in the name A1 Tax amp Bookkeeping Cheryl and her team are the people you want to be in your corner. My Experience was A-1 quality! I am a UberLyft driver and filing taxes can be very complicated with what can and can not be written off your taxes. Cheryl Made easy to understand and gave me the reassurance and confidence in the filing my taxes. Cheryl And her team give you that Environment of being relax, down to earth, are very personable, and have the time to explain in detail to whatever questions you might have. If anyone looks online at reviews and such, reviews sometimes mean allot, but I have to state this openly I am always skeptical of anyone doing anything for me, because many are scam artists, but when I met Cheryl legit worked with her and she showed me proof and documentation of new tax laws and what she does to stay on top of everything. She values not only her license, but her own time as much as her clients time. I will be going back to her office.
