I hired Joe for tax resolution help and paid over $5,000 expecting clear action, documentation, and progress. That’s not what I got. Most of the guidance I received was to “wait” due to a potential bankruptcy filing. However, I never received confirmation that key actions — like pursuing IRS CNC status — were actually filed. There were no transcripts, notices, or documentation showing real movement on my case. I had access to both my IRS and Minnesota accounts and monitored them myself. I did not see evidence that anything was actively handled on the state side either. A major issue came from a federal tax adjustment that later affected my Minnesota balance. I was not advised to address this proactively. By the time Minnesota updated the assessment, it fell outside my bankruptcy discharge window, leaving me responsible for additional tax and significant penalties. At that point, I handled everything myself — filing extensions, requesting penalty relief, addressing the lien, and setting up a payment plan directly with the Minnesota Department of Revenue. I raised these concerns and tried to resolve things professionally, including asking about a partial refund or credit, but we were not able to reach an agreement. For context, I hired a separate bankruptcy attorney. Joe was not involved in that process beyond providing transcripts. To be fair, Joe was polite and responsive. However, the lack of transparency, documentation, and follow-through is why this experience fell short.
