I had a very disappointing experience with Tony Yan in Gaithersburg. I arrived about 10 minutes early for my appointment and went inside. He came out of his office and told me to “have a seat,” which I did. A few minutes later, he came back out and repeated himself in a rude tone, saying, “It’s not four o’clock yet, sit down.” The attitude felt unnecessary and unprofessional. Once 4:00 PM arrived, I was still made to wait an additional 10 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. When I was finally seen, I handed him my paperwork. Within about 10 minutes, he began asking about setting up direct deposit. Prior to the appointment, I had clearly communicated that I only wanted to know his pricing first. I reiterated this again during the appointment, but he ignored my request. My husband had to repeat that we were simply asking for pricing information and were not ready to proceed. Due to the poor attitude and lack of communication, I informed him I was no longer interested in moving forward. He then stated, “You still have to pay me, I done all the work already.” We paid him via Zelle and left. Overall, the experience felt rushed, dismissive, and unprofessional. I would not recommend this service. Save your time and consider other options until you find someone who communicates clearly and treats clients respectfully.

Responsiveness: A good CPA should answer within a reasonable timeframe (not weeks). Knowledge & Updates: Tax laws change all the time; if your CPA isn’t keeping up, it puts you at risk. Attitude: If he seems like he doesn’t care, that’s a red flag. A CPA is supposed to be your advocate. Reputation: Consistently poor reviews (and your own experience) are usually a sign to look elsewhere.

DO NOT USE this person's service. VERY UNREASONABLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, HARD HEADED, RUDE, IMPATIENT, and TERRIBLE X 3. Made several mistakes on the tax returns and blamed on other people.

RIDICULOUS person! He is UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, IMPATIENT, and TERRIBLE!!!!! He doesn't know what he is doing!! and he is OVER-CHARGING!!!My family went to him for tax filing at the end of March, but until today at the end of May, we still haven't receive our refund from either IRS or state of MD - because he DIDN'T SUBMIT it!!!!!!!!!When we called him in early April to follow-up, he CLAIMED he submitted it when we were there in March, but when I use the IRS refund status website, it said there is NO RECORD of the taxpayer so where did he file our taxes???!! Then we went to his door in Mid-April, he showed us the taxes were filed, ON THE DAY WE WENT TO HIS DOOR!! At the end of April, we still haven't receive our refund, so we called him again, and he said I don't want to talk to you anymore, YOU ARE WASTING MY TIME I even had this conversation recorded! What a attitude! Earlier in May, we called him again as we still haven't receive our refund and we could not find any records from the IRS or Comptroller of MD websites, which both of them are government-based websites, then he YELLED at us I don't know where you find your information, but I submitted your tax, so DON'T EVER CALL ME AGAIN!! Today is already the end of May, and we still haven't receive any confirmation or updates from either IRS or state of MD. If you want your greatest and speedy refund, NEVER EVER go to him!!!!!!!!!!!If you are a victim, we strongly suggest and recommend you to FILE COMPLAINT to state of MD and IRS on him!!!!!!!!!By the way, when we trying to file the complaint on him, we found that he IS NOT licensed CPA or tax preparer!!!!Side note, we would give him NO star if that's one of the option.
