I hired Angele Givens to handle my bookkeeping in September 2017. The job involved sorting out files from my previous bookkeeper, setting up Quickbooks online fresh and continuing bookkeeping on a monthly basis. Over the course of 6-7 weeks, I spent several hours in meetings with Ms. Givens meticulously reviewing our files so that she'd have accurate information and in I paid Ms. Givens thousands of dollars for her services in these regards. I noticed some very basic errors in her work almost immediately and realized that we could not continue using her services. Over time, we discovered that not only had Ms. Givens incorrectly entered client balance amounts and failed to apply payments or double applied payments for some clients records greatly reducing the balances they showed as owed and had they not been caught would have resulted in thousands of dollars in lost income, but when our tax preparer reviewed the records, she found that Ms. Givens had also double entered our payroll for the time she handled our bookkeeping. We corrected this before filing our taxes for 2017 and approached Ms. Givens about the situation and she denied that she could have possibly made any mistakes whatsoever and refused to accept any responsibility. Several months later our now current bookkeeper found some additional errors and discovered that Ms. Givens had also double entered ALL our income and expenses for the 6-7 weeks she solely handled our bookkeeping. We have now been forced to refile our taxes at an expense of several hundreds of dollars in preparation fees AND will be paying interest and penalties as well. Ms. Givens work is completely untrustworthy and you cannot expect her to take any responsibility for costly mistakes that she makes. Avoid at all cost.
