Originally from Rome, Italy and later raised in Canada, Mauro earned his degree in Business Administration from York University and became a Chartered Accountant in 1984. He later obtained the prestigious Enrolled Agent designation—a federally authorized credential representing the highest level of expertise in U.S. taxation and authorizing representation of taxpayers before the IRS nationwide.

In 1991, Mauro relocated to California with his growing family and acquired an established accounting and tax practice, which evolved into Mauro M. D’Amico, Inc. Over the years, his firm expanded beyond tax compliance to include thoughtful tax planning and coordination with broader financial decisions.

Recognizing that tax decisions affect nearly every aspect of a client’s financial life, Mauro believes that integrating tax planning with financial planning leads to better outcomes and greater peace of mind. This philosophy later led to the development of a complementary wealth management firm, allowing clients to benefit from a more coordinated and forward-looking approach.

Outside of his practice, Mauro enjoys traveling, spending time near the water, golfing, reading, fine dining, and sharing time with his wife Marlene, their three children, and four grandchildren.
