This man is a nightmare! He was my father's accountant. My parents had a home and a commercial property. At the time of my mother's death, my name was on both. A few years later Mandel told my father that he needed to put the house in a living trust, and sent us to a lawyer. I later learned because of this, my property tax would quadruple and I have lost the tax status if I buy another home. When my father realized this I called Mandell and he refused to help. After my father's death, I called him again and he had me meet him at an escrow office to straighten it out, as we left he said he would take care of everything. That was a sham, he never contacted me.Before the pandemic I contacted him and he said he knew nothing about it and I needed to get a lawyer.Why would a competent accountant do this? As things were, on my father's passing I would have inherited with no tax increase and maintained my tax rate.
