I used Mark BorderThe Mark Service for approximately 10 years. Early on he provided a good service at a price 350. I will attest to Mark tax preparation skills as he does knows taxes. However in the later years, and for what reason I don't know, he seemed to become despondent for one reason or another. The final straw for me not using him anymore was on my last taxes I gave him, I had omitted my IRA contribution data. It made the difference of me owing my usual 1500.00 to 4500.00 in taxes. That was bad enough, but instead of Mark reviewing my taxes with me, where the IRA omission would of been caught, he filed them electronically which he had authority to do. To my thinking he could of easily seen I had never paid this much before. I then had to refile myself, to correct the error, thus saving 3000.00. Now here's the kicker, when I refiled I found out Mark had checked a box on my return that costs me an extra 50 for a filing late. Well, I always gave Mark my tax materials by mid March so it would be a burden as late in the tax season can become stressful. I can't image why he did this, but besides the above complaint with him, this really left a bad taste in my mouth. Sorry, life's too short for this kind of problem, I'm so much happier with another preparer.
