Terry Thompson engaged with my husband and I as a client, did one year of tax returns and was in place to do a 2nd 1040 tax return for us. All documents were received by him in his office by February 19, 2019 except for 2 K-1s. Those K-1s were faxed to his office on March 18, 2019. During this time we communicated about the documents numerous times. On March 25th Mr. Thompson said he was hopeful to have the 1040 done by the deadline, April 15, but he wanted to file an extension for the return to be Prudent. On April 24 inquired when the 1040 would be finish and he stated he had just had a short vacation and thought the tax return would be done in about 2 weeks. On April 29, 2019 I received an email no phone call stating he felt someone with more experience should do my return and that he was sending our documents back to . Needless to say I was stunned and had no warning that there was a problem. Mr. Thompson has left my husband and I in a precarious situation where we have to go out and find a new CPA while our taxes are in limbo and the refund we should receive because he felt an extension was prudent for him. I have yet to have a conversation with him and am agast at how unprofessional he has been with no regard to our financial state or wellbeing. I would never EVER recommend Terry Thompson or his firm Timothy Richards and Associates who are located in Seattle, WA.
