I am terribly disappointed with my experience with Lacy Drummond. Her employee promised my tax return would be filed on a certain date. When I contacted that employee via the tax portal and their personal phone number they never returned my call. I finally got in touch with Lacy and she completed my taxes and was missing 3 of my estimated tax payments. I received a notice saying I owed to 4500 federal and to 3500 state. She then looked at the tax form and said I was owed a refund of 18000 dollars. My refund was actually $47. When I expressed how unprofessional that was she hung up on me. They obviously have no understanding of how taxes work or how to run a business. Do not use this company.

I tried to hire Lacy Drummond to do my taxes. She ignored messages sent to her through the web portal she uses. Interestingly this portal is a web site other than Jackson Hewett which is how I came to know of her. So JH is promoting her as their CPA yet she uses a web site other than JH. She asked questions not relevant to my scenario, which could be argued she was looking for ways to maximize my return but when I asked for clarification, she never replied. She jacked up the price from her verbal quote. At one point when I messaged her regarding my return, she relied to say she wasn't replying anymore. Her exact verbiage was curt and rude but I'm not logging back into her portal to get that wording since I don't want to be logged in again. I ended up not having her do the return so I am left to wonder what she did with my docs.

Stay far away unless you want to pay penalties, interest, and fees with IRS. I had a discussion with her about my circumstances, she gave me advice that seemed aligned with my goals, I gave her all the information she asked weeks in advance. She was very very late on submitting everything after she had lied and said it was ready - did some work incorrectly that I can no longer correct, this cost me interest and penalties and then gaslights you as if it is your fault!! Additionally, she is not responsive and shows no care or concern. Terrible terrible experience - STAY FAR AWAY!!!

I cannot NOT recommend Lacy enough. Her customer service, nonexistent. Her due diligence to proper preparation, subpar… is there a level or three below subpar?? Willingness to own up to a mistake and take appropriate action to correct it, you guessed it - nonexistent!! Having to chase a lead, a toddler, or even a dog is fun - having to chase your accountant (via phone, text, email and literally driving to multiple locations) NOT so much fun. Being quoted a price which is between $450-675 MORE than what multiple other people are posting their fee was for an even more complicated filing, well that seems quite strange, and like she was trying to take advantage of a new client. Ultimately, a new accountant was hired, an extension needed to be filed, and our taxes have to be redone - but at least correctly this time. Save yourself time, money, and a massive headache and don’t use Lacy Drummond as an accountant.
* wouldn’t have even given 1 star for any category, but making sure people are seeing those empty rating stars emphasizes just how much I do not recommend her!
