I've done my own taxes on TurboTax for the past 15 years. In 2020 I started a small business and decided a professional may be warranted. Before trying to find a CPA, I plugged my info into TurboTax and found that I'd be getting back a whopping 100. I was interested to see if a professional would really be worth it. I was referred to Robert Marchand by a large firm near my home, that was no longer accepting new clients. I immediately found Robert to be personable, extremely knowledgeable about taxes in general, and I was particularly impressed by his expertise in real estate taxes. He spoke in layman's terms as he described the deductions and other magic he could work - he asked questions that TurboTax never even touched on. I explained that I'm a single mom, and my small business was impacted by the pandemic, resulting in a financial hardship, so I was on the fence about hiring a professional this year. Robert then offered his assistance for whatever amount I felt I could afford. As the conversation went on, he asked me to also send him my taxes from the previous 5 years.... which he decided we needed to amend. I was blown away that this CPA was willing to review 6 years of taxes without me agreeing to pay a dime goodnice people still exist!!!. Despite not being a paying customer, Robert answered every one of my calls, and emails within minutes, letting me know his availability was 8am - 8pm. He patiently answered my many questions and he made me feel comfortable. I just received a call letting me know that I can expect to receive 5000 from my amended 2014 - 2019 taxes, and he's currently working on my 2020. I will of course be paying Robert as he is 100 worth every cent I'm so excited - I can't wait to see what he's able to do with my 2020 taxes. I'm so glad I didn't just go with TurboTax again this year. I cannot recommend Robert Marchand enough A, he has found a client for life, and I will refer all of my friends and family to this CPA. Thank you for being an amazing CPA and human being!!!
