I was referred by a colleague to “CPA Jay” & used him as my CPA for the last 5 years. The last 2 have been terrible working with him. I literally texted him an outrageous number of times to complete my returns on time which were always past the deadline. Each year he filed for extensions so it was no big deal until this past year his extension was denied & he did nothing about it & never even told me! I waited 4 months (since March) for him to complete my returns by July, I paid my tax bill a week after they were complete, he then waits 2 more months to submit my returns to the IRS resulting in a $9k tax penalty bill due to him not resubmitting the failed application extension, 100% his failure. The 1st I know about any of this is October when I received the $9k tax penalty bill for paying late, he never told me anything about it! I ask him about it & attitude is all I get, no responsibility for his lack of paying attention or refiling the extension. I fire him then I come to find out “CPA Jay” isn’t even a CPA! CPA Jay is also involved in lawsuits, just Google his name. Stay far far away from this liar, Jay is incompetent, blames his phone for “acting up”, always has a doctor’s appointment or vacation that is more important than him doing his job. You will learn even more about him if you just google, none of it is good, all these things of course I find out after I fire him. My new CPA is attempting to get the penalty removed based on his complete negligence which was submitted with pages of proof from texts & emails between him & I.

I felt like Jay actually cared about my family's financial well-being, so smart and sophisticated, but still made me feel like he was just one of us, easy going and down to earth. We really love Jayj and we always will.
