Hunter Biden Potentially Facing Federal Charges For Tax, Gun Crimes

President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, could be facing federal charges on tax and gun crimes following an investigation.

Federal agents have confirmed that they see chargeable offenses in the tax and gun-purchasing case against Biden, 52. The investigation into Biden's activities began in 2018, and ultimately became a key talking point for former President Donald Trump during his unsuccessful 2020 re-election bid.

Trump is currently facing his own ongoing legal woes following the FBI's August 8 raid of his Mar-a-Lago property in Florida.

As for Biden, The Washington Post reports that it is now up to Trump-appointed Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss to decide if Biden will be charged.

The outlet shared a statement from Chris Clark, one of Biden's attorneys. In it, the counselor indicated that federal agents involved in the case had leaked information:

“It is a federal felony for a federal agent to leak information about a Grand Jury investigation such as this one. Any agent you cite as a source in your article apparently has committed such a felony. We expect the Department of Justice will diligently investigate and prosecute such bad actors. As is proper and legally required, we believe the prosecutors in this case are diligently and thoroughly weighing not just evidence provided by agents, but also all the other witnesses in this case, including witnesses for the defense. That is the job of the prosecutors. They should not be pressured, rushed, or criticized for doing their job.”

Since March -- when computer experts reviewed thousands of the emails purportedly from Biden’s computer and determined them to be authentic -- the Biden probe has remained largely out of the news, replaced with interest in the two investigations into Trump's conduct.

Federal agents are currently looking into both potential election fraud in Georgia and the mishandling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago

In April, White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain said President Biden “is confident that his son didn’t break the law."

It is important to note that Biden has not yet been charged with any federal crimes, and a decision regarding final charges has yet to be made.
