My personal opinion based on my experience as a former client of Apex Tax Advisors in Moorestown NJ. They talk to you and treat you like they're doing you a favor and you should be grateful. My previous tax preparer who I was using since I was 18, merged with Apex in preparation for their retirement and suggested Apex. My wife and I did use them for 3 years and each year their fee was increased significantly. This year, I called find out what it would cost and never received a call back so I called again. They gave me a price of $600.00 and when I asked how they got to that number they got defensive and then told me that they weren't taking any more tax returns. So much for being available all year like your business statement says. Once I did finally get my answer after letting me know that I was parting ways with them, pricing is based on ala carte' pricing which is fine but $600.00 dollars. At Best they are average in terms of preparing your returns and that's being generous. Customer service is horrible too. Owners don't return calls either, even when preparing final taxes of a family member.
