Dick has done our taxes for many years. He is knowledgeable, easy to work with and personable. The problem is not with him per se but with his wife Kathy who manages his business. She is rude, condescending and difficult to work with. Sadly, we will no longer be using Lietzau Tax Service.

Richard has been our accountant for several years. A few years back he made a big mistake on our federal taxes. It cost us several thousand dollars and we were audited for several years. This past year , we had returns for Minnesota and Wisconsin. He filed the Wisconsin return under Minnesota. I noticed it as soon as we received the returns. Called right away. Too late. They had already emailed them. Now we have to straighten out this mess. Don’t use them!

My wife and I had several issues while working with Lietzau tax this year, and so we reached out to them. It's just Richard and his wife out of their home. They neglected to send me any of my documents back that I sent them and since everyone is working from home, I didn't have a chance to photocopy for my records. And when I told them to wait to file because I was expecting a revised W2, he filed anyway against my wishes. I've since tried to call them a dozen times and left 6 messages and they won't return any of my calls. I'm even willing to pay for a modifiedamended return, but they won't even call me back. Pretty rude.Go somewhere else. I won't use them again.
