Federal tax liens are made public by the IRS.  They are the result of unsuccessful attempts by the IRS to collect outstanding liabilities. In our experience most people find themselves in this situation through a series of events beyond their control. No doubt this causes great stress.

Many taxpayers are under the false illusion the IRS can assess penalties and interest with impunity. They cannot. We have developed a process that leads to resolution and is described in a general manner below.

The age old adage “innocent until proven guilty” is applicable to our judicial system.  However, the IRS exists within the executive branch of our government and therefore the burden of proof falls squarely upon the accused.

We are fully authorized to represent  your interests, protect your rights, and determine and implement the appropriate solution.

Our Process:

  1. Stage One (Discovery and Analysis); We combine the information you provide to us in concert with a Comprehensive Tax Analysis Report to discover a complete understanding of your IRS problems, a chronological history, First Time Penalty Abatement opportunities, and a path toward resolution. This stage requires securing a Power of Attorney, Engagement Agreement, and a Retainer of $500.00. This will give us a wealth of information, and at this point it will be your decision whether to use our firm to implement the next stages of compliance and/or resolution.
  2. Stage Two (Current and Compliant); The IRS will not consider entering into any negotiations without the taxpayer being in current compliance. This means, for example, all your tax returns have been filed (typically the prior six for individuals) and the current tax year obligations are paid. The fee for this stage will depend upon the depth and complexity of non-filed returns.
  3. Stage Three (Resolution); We will determine the correct strategy, prepare the documents, and implement the response to bring your case to proper resolution. This means at times we will not agree with the IRS at the Collection or Examination levels and will escalate your case to Appeals.
