I had a very bad experience of hiring Luis Aramayo from L.A.C. Accounting for filing my year 2020 income tax. When I was sitting in Luiss office while he was working on filing my income tax, he was chatting with me about his upbringing in his country, his grandma, and his favorite Chinese food, etc. Since he was not focused while he was working, I was very nervous that he would make mistakes in filing my tax. He told me that I got 401 credit working as a freelancer, and would get a 33 refund from the Federal Government. After I waited for a few months and didnt get my refund check, I called the IRS and found out that the 401 was not a credit. It was the deferred payment that the IRS gave the taxpayers more time for paying their taxes due to the pandemic. Instead of getting a refund, I owe the IRS 368. I was very upset when I found out the truth. I thought that I paid for a professional accounting service by Luis A. But in reality, he made mistakes and gave the wrong information to me due to his lack of knowledge of the latest tax law. He misled me to believe that I would receive a refund from IRS. I called him and called out this matter to him. Instead of apologizing to me for his mistake, he redirected the subject by talking about the upcoming unemployment benefit. I had to redirect him back to my call-out. Then he told me to bring the noticeletter from IRS regarding this matter when I received it. Later on, when I went to his office and showed him the letter from IRS, again he didnt apologize for his mistake. He only told me that he would file a copy of this letter in my file. I was very disappointed by his irresponsible and unprofessional practice. I requested that he should have refunded the fee that I paid him. Then he disputed with me that he spent an hour working on filing my tax. I reminded him that he was chatting with me most of the time about his personal things that had nothing to do with filing my tax. At the end of our argument, he said to me that he would refund of the fee to me, and said to me, That is fair, right?. It is never fair for an accountant to charge his customer a fee for professional service and give out the wrong tax regulationlaw to her and mislead her thinking that she doesnt owe any tax to IRS and will get a refund, but it turns out that I am owing IRS money. Besides being an unprofessional and incompetent accountant, he is also not a man of his words, he didnt send the refund check to me. I wont recommend him to anyone. I dont want others to be screwed up by his unprofessional and lousy work!
