The keys to spotting an IRS phone scam voice message.

There are two major IRS scams going on right now: the IRS phishing email and the automated voice message scam. We highlighted what the IRS phishing email scam looks like last week. This week we are sharing some sample voice messages that are being used by the scammers to hit you by phone.

The IRS phone scammers are using technology to leave a series of automated calls that become more and more threatening. Many have become victims to the ongoing attack. So it is important that consumers and especially the elderly can identify the scam before they become a victim. The IRS also has set up a special consumer alerts section on their website as a reference. Feel free to share this article on your social media sites to make sure no one you know becomes a victim.

Here are some sample IRS phone scam messages for reference.
