Did you know? School Supplies Deduction

Did you know that teachers are not limited to a $250 above-the-line deduction for school supplies?

Governmental bodies, including public schools, are considered qualified charitable organizations. Thus a teacher who properly documents the costs of her classroom expenses and for which the school provides written acknowledgement may take a charitable deduction for those costs over and above the $250 above-the-line deduction.
